Listen

Here is a place for you to sample my music or share the link to a song that might encourage a friend.

Herald was completed in 2010, but the songs were written over many, many Christmas seasons.  Each Christmas, I sit down at the piano to compose a song, trying to find a fresh voice rising from the ancient story.  In many of the songs, I have woven together traditional melodies with new musical ideas, and accenting several of the songs are the glorious sounds of violin, cello, flute, harp, choir, and even the voices of my three children.

This album almost got washed away in the devastating floods on the Zumbro River in the summer of 2010.  My friend and producer, Sam Allen of Fine Tone Studio, watched his music studio fill with 8 feet of water.  He grabbed his computer containing this album just in time to evacuate.  God bless him!

Songs with Wings was produced in 2009 in our home studio.  The song, Would You Do This for Me, inspired by my friend and cancer-survivor, Emma, continues to be my most requested and shared song.

(also on album:  Read to Me, Living in Parentheses, At the Corners, God of Hope)

Pilgrimage includes one of my personal favorites, Dreams Must Change.  So many of us have had to let go of what we planned for our lives and accept a new kind of normal.  The Chocolate Song is so fun to sing at concerts, particularly if people are throwing out chocolate to the audience!

(also on album:  Psalm 139, Restore, Speak Lord, Beautiful Offering, This Is My Friend, I Will Be Known as Yours, Herald)

What Matters Most was the first faith song I ever composed when I was a young wife, a fairly new believer in Christ, and an elementary teacher.  It's still a very dear and simple presentation of the gospel.  Can God Live in a Broken Heart, inspired by time spent at volunteering at the Ronald McDonald house, continues to be a local favorite.

(also on album:  This is Love, Living Water, All the Grace, Satisfied with You, Out of the Boat)
